Some Sneak Peaks and Apologies! : Part I

Ok ok ok, so so so so sorry for the lag ladies and gentlemen... I've been working away like crazy with Cooper for the tattoo apprenticeship and I must say, things are moving along rather nicely. I'm so excited and humbled by the fact that I get to learn among so many amazing artists here at Guru Tattoo

The awesomeness is a little overwhelming at times, but once I place my feet back on the ground I remember I've still got a long way to go... but there is a light at the end of the tunnel... I promise! And if all goes according to plan, I will be able to start taking names for some free apprentice tattoos by the Winter of 2012/Spring of 2013 for any and all who are interested!

In the meantime, check out some of my sketches from Cooper's latest assignments... I will definitely post more images in my blog series "Tattoo Apprenticeship"... so check that out as well... it also includes a little more info about my apprenticeship, tattoos and tattooing.

But if that isn't enough for you, you can always check me out Instagram (@katherinebrannock) for more pictures and musings during my time in and around Guru Tattoo and/or the rest of the world...

Thanks for checking in
and take care until next time!

Please enjoy...

 Thanks again for checking in,
and maybe we'll meet for the first time

Gallery Nucleus : Power in Numbers Series I

Well, once again, San Diego Comic Con International has blown my mind out into the stratosphere of nerd space... so happy to finally come out of the geek closet and share my nerdiness with all of you.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who stopped by the booth this year- much love to my returning fans as well as the new fans I had a chance to meet and greet... You are all so so awesome and I wouldn't be able to continue on if it wasn't for all of you!

Thank you again, from the bottom of my geeky heart.

But enough lovey-dovey, stuffy-wuff... I have some announcements for a new series debuting at Gallery Nucleus for their "Power in Numbers" project. The "Power in Numbers" project was designed by Gallery Nucleus to showcase some amazing original artwork at affordable prices... not to mention the fact that a part of the proceeds from the artwork helps certain non-profit organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund, UNICEF and Red Cross. So not only can you purchase something original and beautiful, but you can feel good about it too!

I intend to create nine new pieces for a series of "Little Spirit Masks" inspired by various flora and fauna. Each illustration will be approximately 5" x 7" and priced at $100. I have one of the nine completed and she's already available at the "Power in Numbers" website at Gallery Nucleus. Below are the photos of my new work.
Title:
"Incandescent Eyelids"

Medium:
Ballpoint Pen, Watercolor & Gold Ink

Size:
5" x 7"

Caption:
"I tried to imagine what the spirit of a blue poppy might look like
when attempting to hypnotize someone into an eternal sleep."

Thanks for checking in and hopefully my work will
someday appear on the walls of Gallery Nucleus...
in which case, maybe that's when we'll meet for the first time.

Take care until then...

Sullen Art Collective : Art Driven : Work in Progress I

July is slowly unfolding into one insanely packed month filled with art shows as well as the San Diego Comic Con International. Once again I've been asked by Mr. Tim Shelton to participate in group art show with the Sullen Art Collective. The list of incredible artists participating in this event keeps growing along with my excitement for what's to come...

No pun intended.

Until the climax of this grand spectacle, please enjoy my work in progress for the show. I'm also going to do my best to include a second piece for the Art Driven show... but we'll see what happens...

Thanks for checking in and maybe we'll meet for the first time,
at Sullen Clothing Headquarters...

Take care until then...
